Edmar Dionizio

Born in São João do Itaperiú (SC, Brazil) and currently residing in Curitiba and Caçador, Edmar Dionizio holds a Ph.D. in Music from the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR) and a Master’s degree in Music from the State University of Santa Catarina (UDESC). He also holds a Licentiate degree in Music from the University of Vale do Itajaí (UNIVALI) and a Bachelor’s degree in Music (Violin Performance) from UDESC.

As a violinist, he has performed with several musical ensembles, including the Santa Catarina Symphony Orchestra (OSSCA), the UDESC Academic Orchestra, the Santa Catarina Opera Company Orchestra, the IMCARTI Chamber Orchestra, the Caçador Symphony Orchestra, the São Bento do Sul Philharmonic Orchestra and the CESCB Chamber Orchestra. He is currently the coordinator and conductor of the IFSC–Caçador Orchestra.

His experience as a music educator includes work in various schools and social projects, such as the Institute of Music, Singing and Art of Itajaí (IMCARTI), the School of Music at the Business, Social and Cultural Center of Brusque (CESCB), the Franklin Cascaes Foundation, the Florianópolis Department of Education, and the Donaldo Ritzmann Music School in São Bento do Sul. He is currently a Music teacher at the Federal Institute of Santa Catarina (IFSC).
