Born in Massaranduba (SC-Brazil) and resident in São Bento do Sul (SC-Brazil), Edmar Dionizio is Master of Music (Musicology and Ethnomusicology) at the State University of Santa Catarina (UDESC), Specialist in Music Education at the University of Vale do Itajaí (UNIVALI), and holds a Licentiate’s degree in Music at UNIVALI, and a Bachelor’s degree in Music (Violin/Performance) at UDESC.
As a violinist, his work includes participation in several musical groups, such as Santa Catarina Symphony Orchestra (OSSCA), UDESC Academic Orchestra, Cia Ópera de Santa Catarina Orchestra, IMCARTI Chamber Orchestra and CESCB Chamber Orchestra. He is currently a member of the São Bento do Sul Orchestra.
His work experience as a music educator includes several schools and social projects, such as the Institute of Music, Singing and Art of Itajaí (IMCARTI), School of Music at the Business, Social and Cultural Center of Brusque (CESCB), Franklin Cascaes Foundation and Florianópolis’ Department of Education. He currently works as a violin teacher at the Donaldo Ritzmann Music School, in São Bento do Sul.
